In 2021 I was awarded Distinction on the Advanced Sound Design course at Point Blank Music School. Learning how to design sounds that enhance a listener’s experience has been the most amazing creative challenge.

My sound design work ranges from creating bespoke production elements for podcasts, to full sound effect suites for interactive games. I work across Ableton Live andPro Tools as well as having access to a variety of table top synths, a modular setup and a much-loved four-track Tascam tape deck. I have a range of microphones to collect sounds from underwater to the treetops, from binaural to direct speech.

The psychology of sound is an area I am constantly learning about. Sound speaks to our subconscious and brands are becoming more aware of this all the time. Brands rarely forget about visual consistency, but aural consistency is still an after-thought. Every sound your potential client hears should reflect your values - from the on-hold music and voiceover clients hear as they wait to speak with customer services, to the music on your podcast or YouTube video.
