Audio is powerful

Sound has a direct connection to your emotions. A few notes from a song can transport you back in time. A single sound can transport you into a memory you thought long forgotten.

For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by capturing and listening to sounds. It’s little wonder I went from being a child with a cassette recorder and a hand-held microphone, to a professional radio journalist, compiling and presenting local news bulletins.

My love affair with radio began in the 90s when I spent time volunteering at Neptune Radio in Dover and working for various RSLs around Kent (including Ashford FM and Maid FM) as part of the Radio Services team. After completing my NCTJ with Trinity Mirror, I worked as a newspaper reporter for the Medway News and Assistant News Editor for the Medway Messenger. But the pull of radio was too strong and I joined kmfm as a newsreader for Medway and Thanet, ultimately becoming the station’s county news editor.

I have spent the last few years working with Europe’s largest voice tech agency Vixen Labs, advising global brands about podcast and voice accessible content - think Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.

I enjoy experimenting with audio concepts that introduce fresh ideas to our ears. My strategic streak enjoys figuring out the objectives, measurements and data to make sure audio content is always working as hard as it can for any brand.

I have worked closely with Fortune and FTSE 500 brands identifying voice concepts and audio needs - Amazon, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal, McDonalds and Pfizer amongst others.

Outside of audio, I am a mum of three and a wife with an over-active interest in social audio and an unhealthy obsession with modular synth modules. I also make pretty cool cakes.
